About Me

My personal and professional life are woven into the fabric of the natural world. From growing up amongst forests to travelling the world, the lens through which I encounter the world is focused on how we nurture communities to feel a kinship with the Land in which they live, including the plant and animal species that they share it with.

I am most passionate about connecting and collaborating with others, grounding myself in community with others. The opportunity to share and learn from others opens me to new ways of thinking, feeling, and being with the Land. My personal drive is rooted in discovering new ways of interacting with the human and non-human worlds.

My Background

I started by serving an apprenticeship within a local social forestry project before joining them in caring for a patchwork of natural spaces in south Staffordshire. The following year, I was asked to become a tutor on that same project, and later on, I led an advanced programme.

Later, I became a countryside ranger, which included interpreting the area's archaeology for visitors.

Having become qualified as a forest school practitioner, I later became a trainer, spending over a decade travelling around the UK and the world. During this time, I taught 4.5k+ practitioners in a pedagogy that nurtures communities within the natural world.

Setting up my non-profit, the Centre for Ethnoecology, and undertaking a postgraduate qualification were life-changing events that impacted me personally and professionally. This is the most rewarding work that I have undertaken. I am so thankful to the communities that have welcomed me and a wide range of researchers and practitioners with whom I can connect.
